The Playmakers Project
In April 2007 a new play opened at the Birmingham Repertory
Theatre. All
the ideas, the story, the characters, everything about the play were decided by a group of 90 parents and young children [2 to 4
years old] from across the
city....the family playmakers. This website has been following the story
of this unique and ambitious project.

As it develops, the ideas for the play were kept up to date on the
page called Ideas, and there were also two
discussion areas, [now closed down] where people could add their
own comments and suggestions, or ask questions about any aspect of the
project
This unique project is a collaboration between the REP and Birmingham
Family Learning Service, and the process was being documented and
recorded so that it can be used as a model for future work.
| The script is now
online, and you can read it, or print a copy by visiting the page called
'Documents'
. If you have any comments, remember to put them on the
ideas page. |
